LA Solarpunk

A Los Angeles collective building sustainable technology for and with community organizations.

Los Angeles with green space (used with permission by FATBLINE on reddit)

Technology should serve our communities, not extract from them.

We are a volunteer collective exploring a future in which technology lives in harmony with nature instead of opposed to it. We partner with mutual aid networks and grassroots organizations across LA to build tools they actually need: solar energy systems, environmental sensors, food infrastructure, and the software that ties it together. Everything we build is open source. We believe the tools to create a more resilient, equitable city already exist. We're here to put them to work.

Does your organization need a technology build?

We work with small community groups and mutual aid organizations in LA to build tools that actually solve problems. We handle the technical work (and the fundraising where we can!) we just need your time to help us understand what you need.
